Shoe Box Swap Club

If you've never been to a shoe box swap, then you don't know what you're missing! You simply design a project and prepare enough supplies for everyone in attendance to re-create it! You bring the stamps, ink, card, paper, embellishments and any "special" adhesive needed (like glue dots or Crystal Effects) in a shoebox or similar container, then rotate the boxes around the room completing each others' projects!

How the Club Works

Apologies - this is rather long, but please ensure you read it all so you fully understand how the Shoe Box Swap club works. It's not complicated - just long to explain!

There is a £10 non-refundable annual joining fee, which guarantees your place each month, from the month you join up to (and including) December of that year. Each Shoe Box Swap club has a maximum of 7 places (members). The annual fee is payable either before or at your 1st club meeting then at the January meeting each year thereafter. You are under no obligation to remain a club member & may leave at anytime, but please ensure you notify us of your intention to leave, so that your place may be offered to a new member.

The club meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, 7-9.30pm, in Timperley. Places must be booked in advance - even if you are already a club member. Upcoming meetings are listed on our Workshop Schedule page. To reserve your place, you need to log into our calendar system. If you already have a profile, click here to log in. If you haven't got a profile, click here to contact us to request a profile.

Registration for places will close 2 days before each meeting, to give members enough time to prepare their project and all the supplies needed for all the other swap club members to re-create the project. If in doubt, create your project, then prepare enough supplies for 6 re-creations. Please keep your projects reasonably simple, as there'll be up to 7 to complete in just 2.5 hours. Your project should take no longer than 20-30 mins for a member to complete, which should be achievable as most of the prep will be done, so it should just be a matter of stamping and assembling!

At the meeting, you bring your project and your shoe box full of supplies. We then rotate the boxes around the room completing each others' projects. At the end of the evening, you take home everything you've made, plus your original project. The cost per monthly meeting is £2.50, which includes refreshments & use of standard adhesives, tools, etc..

So where does your £10 annual fee go? In December, the meeting will take place on a pre-agreed day and we'll spend the whole day crafting & partying! We'll still do the swap as usual, but you can make your project a little more complex and there'll be extra projects for you to complete, food to eat & lots of fun to be had! Plus a Christmas goody bag for each member!

Phew!! That's it! This IS a lot more fun than it reads!! Try it and see!
